Exchequer Bill, [5th June] 1697, 5 pounds, with interest at a farthing per day, #111172, signed by Sir Robert Howard, black on thick paper, usual scrollwork at either side, endorsements on the reverse. Sir Robert Howard, 1626-1698, playwright, poet and Secretary of the Treasury. Somewhat stained and has been mounted on the reverse, fine and rare.
