Australia: English, Scottish and Australian Bank Limited, 4% debenture stock certificate, 189[4], #742, brown. Formed in 1852 as the English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank. Reconstructed as this in 1893. A banknote ussuer from its early days in Sydney. Acquired the Commercial bank of Tasmania and the London Bank of Australia in 1921 and the Royal bank of Australia in 1927. Merged with the Australia and New Zealand Bank in 1970. VF and rare. First time at auction.
