Australia: Australasian Pacific Mail Steam packet Company, pair of £20 shares issued to Thomas Baring, 1852, #681 and #682, black, embossed seal. Incorporated by Royal Charter in 1852 to establish two steam packet routes to the Australian Colonies, one by way of the Cape of Good Hope and the other by way of Egypt and Singapore. Wound up in 1856 and mail contract awarded to P & O. Both have spike damage - see images - otherwise VF (2).
