Great Britain: A & F. Pears Limited, certificate for preferred ordinary shares, 19[44], #3524, an attractive design printed by Waterlow & Sons with vignette of the company's Orchard Works and Lanadron Works, their retail premises in Oxford Street, London, the coats of arms of the King and Queen, blue, stamped cancelled. The company has it's origins in the early 19th century, producing it's now famous soap. Probably most famous for the use of the painting 'Bubbles' by Millais in it's extensive advertising campaign of the 1890's. Acquired by Unilever. GVF.
