Incorporated in New Jersey 29th December 1890 to incorporate the old partnership of Thurber, Whyland & Co. Wholesale grocers, importers and agents in Lower Manhattan, New York. In hands of the receiver in 1893 and reorganised in 1894 as the American Grocery Company. Stockholders received stock in the new company on payment of assessments of 20% on the Preferred and 10% on the Common stock. GVF and scarce.
