U.S.A.: Emma Silver Mining Company Limited, £20 shares, 187-, #5214, fully issued but year left off in error, scrollwork at left, mauve. One of the best known mining scandals involving U.S. Senator Stewart and Ambassador to England, Schenk, who offloaded this Utah property for a huge price to British investors. Baron Grant played a major part in its promotion to the British public. It was reconstructed no less than 5 times between 1872 and 1900 when the British investors finally got out. Only GF but a rare piece nevertheless.
